What do you think of the first paragraph of my personal statement? (english)?
"There were never any moments of indecision for me when choosing which subject to study at University level. I feel that I not only get the best out of literature but literature gets the best out of me by allowing me to utilise my highly ytical nature, in the unpicking of the language with which a writer puts his message across, and help me embrace the sincere and to an extent inexplicable strength of feeling that can be imbued through the use of that same language. I feel that this combination is epitomised by a line in one of my favourite poems by E.E. mings; “the best gesture of my brain is less than your eyelid’s flutter which says...we are for each other” which I think communicates what I feel about English Literature as a whole; there are methods and approaches that a which can be used to express oneself but the emotion which the expression conjures is what makes life and Literature truly beautiful. In essence then I want to study English Literature in order both to better understand Literature but foremost to better understand myself. "
